The 6th legion was formed in Cisalpina (the region of Northern Italy), in 52 B.C. by Julius Caesar, for his conquest of Gaul. It later served under Caesar Augustus in the early first century A.D. Later the Iron Legion was sent to serve in Syria, then in Judea along with Legio X Fretensis.
    So, that was some brief history on the Iron Legion. I chose the 6th because out here in Tucson, AZ, it is similar to Judea or Syria. There is a huge 40 acre cattle ranch behind my house that I will be using for reenacting the 6th legion.
